Friday October 23 – Tokyo

Slept until 7:45 this morning.   Got up and had some coffee and hotel snacks for breakfast.

Headed up Odaiba this morning to check out a pet store and the view of the bay.

There’s a mini Statue of Liberty along the boardwalk.

Went in to the shopping area,  which had aquatic theme bathrooms.

Stopped at the pet store to buy the cats at few toys and wandered around the shopping mall a bit.

Bought a Godzilla cat out of a gachapon machine.

Stopped at McDonald’s for lunch as I have always wanted to try the McEbi, plus I didn’t want too much as we have a sushi omakase for dinner.   Couldn’t find the McEbi on the menu so ended up getting a juicy chicken burger,  which is made from chicken thigh meat.   Tasted good but I was disappointed when Marilyn said she saw the McEbi on the menu further down.

Headed back to the train after wandered around a bit.

Stopped in Ginza to check out the Matsuya department store food floor and the Itoya stationary store.

Then wandered back to the metro to head to the hotel for a rest and to prepare for dinner.

After a brief rest and shower we headed out to Sushi M for dinner, not far from the Omote Sando stop in the Ginza line.   12 seats in the restaurant around the bar.   I went for the signature drink pairing,  which featured champagne,  wines, sake and cocktails,  including a very interesting sake, scotch and bonito flake cocktail!

The food was amazing and very high quality.

As it was Marilyn’s birthday,  she also got some macrons from France,  which were incredibly fresh and some cute erasers.

They also gave us very detailed sushi shaped lollipops to go.   I got a clam.

There was a couple from Tokyo beside us that we chatted to that made the dinner even more enjoyable.

Walked back to the station along a street with high end fashion shops that don’t look like they are bombarded with tourists.

Got back to the hotel just after 10 for a bit of time to relax before bed.
